Charles Henderson Child Health Center hosts Rx for Summer Reading event with fun "sunny" activities

Charles Henderson Child Health Center joined other Reach Out and Read-Alabama pediatric practices and clinics across the state to participate in the Rx for Summer Reading!

On July 11, patients entered waiting room and participated in "sunny" activities including hopscotch, bean bag toss, pin the smiley face on the sun and face painting. Children also painted hats and created a masterpiece to take with them.

Terese Colvin, children's librarian at Troy Public LIbrary,  read Sometimes I Feel Sunny along with other books about emotions. Children left with goody bags that included a copy of the book , pencils, sunny sunglasses, as well as treat bag with Sunny D, a sunshine cookie and Cheez-Its!
