Rx for Summer Reading
Reach Out and Read-Alabama hosts an annual summer campaign to encourage families to read together with a chosen book as inspiration. Copies of the book are distributed by pediatric healthcare providers statewide throughout the summer months.
Grand Pediatric Pentathlon
Held annually at the Alabama Chapter- AAP's Spring Meeting, this fun, family-friendly event involves the pediatricians and their families in raising awareness of and funds for Reach Out and Read-Alabama. Participants run or walk one mile, kayak and bike for 30 minutes, swim for one hour, and of course, read for an hour!
